Benefit Concert for Kaitlyn Ferra

Uncategorized 4 Comments »

The Benefit Concert for the Kaitlyn Ferra Memorial Fund went off wonderfully last night at The Living Room in downtown Providence, Rhode Island.  Lots and lots of bands were there from all over New England.  It was loud.  Yowza kinda loud.  Loud like ears buzzing loud.  Briar and Wesley came with us and they had a great time, too.

And there was a huge raffle with lots of cool stuff.  And, I’m told, that Michelle won a hooded sweatshirt in the raffle!  Isn’t that great?

Here is a pretty awful picture from my cell phone – we’ll try to round up some better pictures, including ones we took with our own camera (which I don’t have with me as I write this), and if we can find some from other attendees we’ll post those as well.

I’ll also be emailing Tony Soly to ask him for a full list of the bands and their websites so we can post that information to this site as well.

Happy Birthday Jamie!!!

Birthday Waffles

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Hi! It’s Jamie. It’s my Birthday tomorrow, so I’m making Birthday Waffles! They are really easy to make. All you need are waffles, maple syrup, butter, whipped cream and a candle. First, you cook your waffles in the toaster. Then, you butter the inside of the waffles kind of like a sandwich. Next, you put a little pile of whipped cream on the top waffle. After that, you put the candle on. Finally, you can eat your Birthday Waffles. Enjoy!

Brandon and Donna’s

So we’re visiting Brandon and Donna now.  It’s about 7:20 PM on Friday night, and we’re hoping the Boston Red Sox are going to play tonight.  Brandon has a beautiful High Definition TV.  It is a tube HDTV wihch has a gorgeous, deep black that our TV doesn’t have.

Anyway, we pulled in to a huge open expanse of sloppy, thick and deep mud.  It has been raining for the better part of the last two days and their entire yard has just been cleared, raked (there is a special name for the kind of tow-behind rake that was used, but I’m a dummy about that kinda stuff so I’m not sure what it’s called… I think it starts with an R.. Roak?  Roark?  whotheheck knows), and since it was cleared, all that rain turned the ground to mush.  But it is beautifully leveled, I can tell you that

Apparently a company is donating the driveway and that is just wonderful.

Anyway, I hope someone is reading this.  If you do, and if you find it interresting, every now and then do me a favor and leave some comments?  There is a comment tag on each and every post, so if you feel like you’d like to, leave a comment.

Knock knock… anyone out there?

This kind of stuff just amazes me!

So here I am again

I’m at football practice with DJ.  They’re going over three-point-stance (again).  Sheesh, these coaches are pretty tough on these kids, especially considering they’re about 6 years old.  But, I suppose it is the way to do it if you hope to prepare them to succeed.

And after this passed Sunday, my DJ needs all the preparation he can get.  The South County Tiny Mites didn’t fare none too well.  And with the weather getting colder and colder, these practices certainly aren’t going to be getting any easier for any of us.  But I’m sure many of the folks reading this website know all about that, eh?  And it is certianly worth it for them, too.

They get some social interaction, a great deal of excersize, and they learn about themselves and the game they’re being taught to play.

I forgot to take my camera, but I’ll use my cell phone to try to take a couple of shots.  Not that they may be all that interesting to look at.

Nice thing, I suppose, is some family around here has an unsecure wireless access point, so I’m … uh… borrowing their Internet connection.  I hope they don’t mind me blogging on their connection.  In my own defense, I’m certainly not using too much bandwidth, right?

I guess that’ll be enough for this post.  Oh – the previous post was me teaching Michelle how to put pictures into this blog.  My eventual objective, if anyone is interrested, is opening this site up to family members to write their own posts, put up their own pictures, and let everyone know what is going on in their families.  After all, we need to stay closer, right?  And while in-person visits are ideal, our schedules can make that difficult.

Bye for now!

This is couple of lego bricks

This is couple of lego bricks

I came across this website and immediately remembered how Bryan Dube used to make the most wonderful creations out of legos.  We had big, denim sacks that Memere Poirier and Lena Dube got for Bryan, Eric and myself.  We’d just dump all of our legos in to those sacks.  This was “back in the day” when there weren’t 8,524,633 different unique lego pieces to choose from.  There were like, and I’m not kidding, maybe 60 different types of legos – period.  Including wheels and body parts for little lego men (which we thought were total crap anyway… never did play with the lego men).

Anyway, enjoy!

Ok, here we go again…

So I messed up the last post.  Grr.  I’ll try again.

Saturday night we went out to dinner with Grandma Mary Gaudet and Jeanne St. Onge and Paul Sylvestre (who I’m not sure we got a picture of!  Dangit).  Also there were Brandon and Donna and we Poiriers.  We had some delicious family style chicken.  Thank you Grandma Gaudet!  It was wonderful spending time with you and enjoying the meal together.
